Here at Epic Games, we want to foster a healthy and fun community. We expect our players to follow our Community Guidelines. If your Epic Games display name has been automatically reset, it's because you've violated one of these guidelines. You will receive an email similar to the one below:
Note: Repeatedly violating our Community Guidelines can result in further action taken against your Epic Games account.
Resetting the display name does not affect gameplay progress or purchases on your account. There are some important things you should know and take into consideration:
- A random display name has been assigned to the account, you can continue playing as usual, and there are no other changes than the Epic Games display name reset.
- Do not try changing your display name to the previous one, it will not be allowed as it's been already detected as offensive.
- You can change your new random display name. Make sure to check the rules for creating a display name before changing it.
Note: You can change your display name once every two weeks. If you have recently changed your display name, you will need to wait to update it until the 2 weeks timeline has passed.
